Disappointing start

#9;" align="right" /> Each year it seems as though time moves along at a faster pace. Somehow it is once again time for the start of the collegiate football season. Several games were affected by Katrina but the annual Colorado State University vs. Colorado game started the Rams season. As happened last year it was a disappointing game for the Rams whose hail-mary play failed and the Rams came up on the short end of a 31-28 final score.

DigitalGlobe is providing some great satellite imagery of New Orleans. The images provide a view of the disaster that begin to show its incredible impact. The losses will take a long time to fully understand. There are very few words that can express the feelings associated with such a disaster.

Sun completes StorageTek byout

Today brings the news that Sun has completed its $4.1 billion acquisition of StorageTek. The deal leaves some analysts puzzling over why Sun would make the deal.

Questions remain about whether it will be a good deal for Sun in the years to come. What is clear is that several StorageTek executives made a killing in the deal.
