Bullshit!

There is a great show on Showtime called Penn & Teller Bullshit! On the show the pair known for their slight of hand magic shows bring to light the claims of flim-flamers everywhere. There is a very good show from season one that profiles alternative medicine and puts the spotlight on scams from chiropractic medicine, reflexology, and magnet therapy. Among the best moments are the "healing powers" of the "magnetic" bracelet (so it was really a kids toy and contained NO magnets. All this goes to prove the mind is a powerful thing.

Good News for Pizza Lovers

The New York Times has an article citing a study in Italy that finds eating pizza may help reduce one's risk of cancer. Meanwhile another source suggests a tuna sandwich a day may reduce the risk of Alzhimers's disease.

Unwanted Guests

Upon Sarah's return from Texas this second time around we discovered that some unwelcome travelers have made the trip along with her. The one attached to her side was less painful than the critter feasting in her ear.

A trip to the doctor and then ENT specialist later and the critter is gone - not without a significant amount of discomfort.
