Talk about electability

Interesting... I haven't seen any comment from Mike Miles about this poll. Maybe it does too good a job of squashing the idea that Salazar isn't as electable as Miles? I'm sure Miles long ago quit reading anything I have to say, and would write it off as something to do with state party leadership. However, I've never been a leader in the state party. I'm one of the "common people" who according to the Miles propaganda machine support his position. There are those of us who, although just common folk, are more concerned with

The race is on

Apparently unswayed by the overwhelming majority of the rank-and-file members of the Democratic party that did not offer their support the Mike Miles campaign will go on. Here is the email that was sent out earlier today.

Subject: Standing Tall - Part 2

Dear friend,

You showed courage voting for me last Tuesday. Thank you. In many cases my supporters were in the minority at their precinct caucus, so it took even more courage to stand up for democracy and to make a difference in the direction of our Party and country.

Has a decision been made?

U.S. Senate candidate Mike Miles told the Cortez Journal last week that he would decide by this past Sunday whether to continue his campaign. '"I need some input from people around the state, and we're going to decide what action to take," Miles said via phone Friday,' Miles told the paper. he says he is willing to listen to rank-and-file Democrats. Mike the caucuses were last week. The rank-and-file have spoken and said, quite clearly, that Mr. Salazar is our standard bearer.

Miles campaign talking points

The Mike Miles for Senate campaign again is sending talking points that don't really say anything. A couple of days ago my post drew a response that reads verbatim like the Miles campaign. Let me make it clear I do not support any particular candidate. What saddens me is to see so much traditional political muckraking when there is a chance to reinvent the political process in a new way. In a quote often attributed to Einstein, that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing an expecting different results. Indeed Miles is doing much the same thing as so many candidates who are new to politics have tried - many unsuccessfully.

Miles continues electability campaign

Mike Miles continues his campaign to demonstrate he is more electable than current Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar. I'm not certain why Mr. Miles does not have this information on his website, if however one wants to get the schedule for March 2 it is listed in upcoming events on Miles' website. It will be a great day when candidates figure out that "we the people" are far more interested in WHAT they plan to do and HOW they plan to do it instead of smugly repeating over and over "call person x and ask them to define their positions." For example Mr. Miles, when you say that you "Supports teachers and public schools" what does that mean? I would suggest that better than 90% of the population would say they support teachers and public schools. Where we differ is on how that is best done. Please stop giving us soundbites and trying to tell Salazar what office he should seek, tell us instead what your plans are and let the voters decide based on information. That is the job of a true educator.

Freedberg steps down

After my earlier comments I received the following from Brad Freedberg today. It is refreshing to see someone put state and national interests above self interest.

Dear Friends:

As you may have heard, I've decided to end my campaign for the U.S.
Senate. At Saturday's annual meeting, I made the announcement to the
State Central Committee of the Democratic Party.

I have stopped campaigning exactly one year after I began this process,
having reached out to the party at last year's Jefferson-Jackson dinner.
At the time I began this effort, we were facing a popular and firmly
entrenched incumbent in Senator Campbell, and none of the senior leaders
of the party had seriously intended to mount a campaign.
